Clinic Frequently Asked Questions

ExpressCare offers services similar to Urgent Care, focusing on minor illnesses and injuries such as coughs, colds, strains, sprains, rashes, earaches and urinary tract infections. We provide point-of-care testing on site, and our providers can offer imaging and lab referrals as needed following an evaluation.

ExpressCare is staffed by general advanced practice clinicians who provide initial evaluations and care for a range of conditions. If specialty care is needed, our providers will refer you to an appropriate specialist following their assessment. If you're unsure where to begin, we are here to evaluate your situation and guide you on the next best steps for your care.

Our freestanding clinics offer annual flu vaccines and incidental Tdap vaccinations; however, travel immunizations are not available. Please note that these services are not provided at Walgreens clinics.

Your provider will inform you of the expected timeline for receiving your lab results, which are typically available within 1-3 days. If you use MyChart, you can access your results there as well. Should any results be abnormal, a provider will contact you to discuss them.

We do not have on-site X-ray capabilities. However, if your provider determines that you need an X-ray, they will arrange for you to have one at an appropriate facility.

Yes, our freestanding clinics offer tuberculosis (TB) PPD skin tests as a self-pay service. If there are any factors that may prevent you from receiving a PPD test, our providers can evaluate your situation and recommend alternative testing methods or next steps.

Yes, we offer STD testing, which involves an evaluation by a provider to determine the appropriate screenings.

If you come to ExpressCare for a concern, our providers will evaluate whether blood work is necessary. While not all our locations have blood draw stations, we will direct you to a suitable facility if a blood draw is required.

We do not refill prescriptions for opioids or benzodiazepines; please contact your prescribing provider for these medications. For other medications, our providers will evaluate your condition and prescribe what is clinically appropriate for your diagnosis.

For motor vehicle accidents, our providers can evaluate you and recommend any additional treatment options. For workers compensation (L&I) visits, we can see you for your initial visit to start the claim and then recommend follow-up at your nearest Occupational Health clinic.

You can call 888-227-3312, or visit MyChart at https://mychartor.providence.org, to message your provider directly.

Please bring the form you need completed with you to your visit and our provider will evaluate you to complete the form or will help you navigate your care.
