About Donald E. Rediker
Dr. Rediker received his bachelor of science degrees in both Chemistry and Biology from M.I.T. He was elected to Phi Beta Kappa as a junior in 1976. He completed his medical school training at Washington University School of Medicine, and was elected to the Alpha Omega Honor Society in 1981. He received his Internal Medicine Residency training at Stanford University Hospital. He then served as a Clinical and Research Fellow in Cardiology at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School. Dr. Rediker has been in private practice in Cardiology as a member of the Mission Internal Medical Group since 1987 and has served as President and Vice-President of Mission Internal Medical Group. He is also an Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of California, Irvine.
In his spare time, Dr. Rediker enjoys playing tennis and snow skiing. His personal philosophy on life is Carpe Diem, seize the day!

Dr. Rediker was great at talking with me about my use of Eliquis. Dr. Schiffman said he called both Dr. Rediker and Dr. Cheng, hemattologist, about the dosage of Eliquis. Dr. Schiffman indicated he wanted me to reduce my dosage to 2.5mg for a year and eventually go off of it. Dr.Cheng said there was no one reason he could identify as to why I ended up in Mission's ER with multiple blood clots in both lungs and I should continue to take 5 mg of Eliquis. Dr. Rediker told me if it was him he would continue on the 5mg since there was no causative reason that could be identified for the blood clots. He recommended I see Dr. Cheng again to get his in person reasoning for the amount of Eliquis I should be taking. Since Dr. Rediker is retiring in December, I am making an appointment to see Dr. Cheng in early 2025.Dr. Rediker is a great doctor and someone easy to understand re medical issues.
