About William D. Boothe

Dr. Boothe is an Ophthalmologist who has devoted himself to general and pediatric ophthalmology in Lubbock, Texas, for over 35 years. His educational background includes his undergraduate degree at the University of Texas in Austin, medical school at the Texas Tech Health Science Center School of Medicine in Lubbock, an internship in Internal Medicine at the Southern Nevada Memorial Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada, and residency in Ophthalmology at the Texas Tech Health Science Center Ophthalmology Department.

While born and raised in Austin, Texas, Dr. Boothe formed a deep love for the city of Lubbock and choose to serve the people of Lubbock through his private medical practice starting in 1983 until August 2019. Recently, he has entered a new chapter in life by joining his respect colleagues at West Texas Eye Associates.

In addition to a rewarding medical practice, Dr. Boothe also enjoys a wonderful family life. He married and moved the love of his life to Lubbock in 1980 to start their family together. They have raised two children together and the siblings still currently reside in Lubbock. His son is following in his footsteps and completing his Dermatology residency at the Texas Tech Health Science Center. While his daughter owns and runs a thriving business. He is also blessed with two beautiful grandchildren who are the newest and sweetest adventure of his life.

When he is not in the office, Dr. Boothe can be found playing and watching over his grandchildren. He also enjoys spending his free time reading any book he can get his hands on. His family considers him an amateur historian in World War II history, as well as, other chapters of history. The new chapter in Dr. Boothe’s life has also allowed him time for hunting , golfing, and finally pursuing his passion for traveling the world.

It is Dr. Boothe’s pleasure to be able to continue serving the people of Lubbock at West Texas Eye Associates for many more years.
