Gordon E. Johns, MD

Helpful, precise and focused, Dr. Johns’ meticulous attention to detail enhances his expertise. Growing up on a college campus in Michigan, where his father was a professor of languages, young Gordon spent his free time hiking and playing competitive sports. In college, Gordon majored in biology and then went on to earn his medical degree. After finishing an ophthalmology residency, Dr. Johns completed specialty training in glaucoma. For thirteen years, Dr. Johns was an assistant professor of ophthalmology at Loma Linda University School of Medicine and was director of glaucoma services. He also served as ophthalmology residency program director much of that time. In this post, he utilized his extensive surgical experience to train ophthalmology residents in eye surgery and glaucoma treatment. An outdoor enthusiast, Dr. Johns enjoys running, hiking and long distance bicycling. Dr. Johns and his wife Suzy, a homemaker, have 3 daughters and 2 sons—Jamie, Jennifer, Julie, Janelle and John. A caring professional, Dr. Johns believes that the more he gives of himself, the more he receives. “I want to help improve the quality of people’s lives.
