Explained medical concepts like I was in kindergarten or senile. Umbilical hernia explained by analogy to a hole in a sheet rock wall. As a chemistry PhD with decades in research labs, including bioinformatics, and a frequent reader of primary medical literature that does not go down well. I was hoping to understand the trade off of waiting or doing what was explained a simple procedure, and felt I was given ZERO incite. Felt treated as a stereotype instead of an individual. Sorry the provider wasted as much of his time on me doing nothing useful. I never like wasting any medical providers time because I understand the overburdened state of our local healthcare.
Providence Patient
Dr. Gilsdorf is a superb surgeon and excellent communicator. He performed a very complicated surgery and spent more time than he had expected it take. He then completed his remaining surgeries for the day and visited my in the hospital to answer my questions and inform me of the plan for review of the surgery and my hospital discharge. I so appreciate his competence, and through care.

Providence Patient
Dr. Gilsdorf treats you as a friend, not just a patient. Could not be better.
Providence Patient
Dr Gilsdorf took time to understand my medical concern and lifestyle. He had impeccable communication skills, easing any anxiety I had when I walked in the door and explaining things to me in a way I could follow. I would highly recommend this provider.
