About E. Duane Carmalt
Duane Carmalt, M.D., is triple Board Certified as an Internal Medicine Physician, an Infectious Disease Specialist as well as an Addiction Medicine Specialist. His extensive medical training began at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland with a Liberal Arts Pre-Medical degree. He then attended Duke University School of Medicine in North Carolina, for his MD degree. Dr. Carmalt completed his internship at the University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma City, before moving west to fulfill his medical residency and Infectious Disease Fellowship at the Wadsworth Veterans Administration/UCLA Medical Program in Los Angeles, CA. Dr. Carmalt has served patients in the capacity of Emergency Physician, Director of Emergency Department, Medical Director, Medical Consultant and Staff Physician at well-known hospitals and medical centers. His practice is of Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease in Tarzana, CA. Dr. Carmalt is also the Medical Director of Tarzana Treatment Center. Dr. Carmalt’s philosophy is “partners not patients” when seeing people who need his help. He helps patients understand their illness and how to manage it.
