Roberto L. Patron, MD

During his internal medicine residency and elective rotation, Roberto Patron, MD, realized that infectious diseases was the most rewarding and exciting subspecialty. “Most patients will recover completely and may not have any chronic conditions or need for medications,” he explains.

In his practice, Dr. Patron believes that every patient interaction starts with a warm greeting, listening, showing compassion, and having an open attitude. “Every patient is first and foremost a unique individual who deserves respect and understanding,” he says. As a provider, Dr. Patron enjoys the social interaction with his patients, colleagues, nurses, and every member of the care team. In addition, he stresses getting to know his patients, respects each individual, and strives to provide the best individualized care possible.

Dr. Patron earned his medical degree at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Colombia. He completed his internship and residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Pennsylvania, and his fellowship at the Medical College of Virginia.

Born in Cartagena, Colombia, Dr. Patron had lived in Pennsylvania, Virginia, Massachusetts, North Dakota and Arizona before moving to Oregon. He and his wife have two children. In his free time, Dr. Patron enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, and riding his road bike. The family are fans of the Portland Timbers, North Dakota State Bisons, Liverpool Reds, and the Colombia National Soccer team.
