"The best part of being a physician is when you've really helped someone feel better," says Annie Mack, MD. "That may be as concrete as treating an ear infection, managing a chronic disease, or providing emotional support and advice to a new patient."

In her practice, Dr. Mack encourages her patients - both children and adults - to maintain a healthy, balanced diet and to participate in regular physical activity. "Together, eating well and staying active can help prevent many chronic diseases," she says. "My most important role is to provide information and evidence-based medicine so that patients, parents and/or caregivers can make informed decisions."

Dr. Mack earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She completed her internship and residency in pediatrics and internal medicine at UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, Massachusetts. She is board certified in both internal medicine and pediatrics.

Away from the office, she enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, traveling, learning about new cultures and going to farmers' markets.
