About Jason J. Heino
Whether offering preventive advice or treating complex medical issues, Dr. Heino enjoys helping his patients reduce their risks, feel healthier and improve their lives. He is passionate about preventing health problems through lifestyle interventions such as nutrition, exercise, social interaction, time outdoors, healthy sleep and avoiding overuse of substances. When health issues arise, he provides evidence-based care that’s appropriate for each person. “I believe in helping patients achieve better health through care that is right for them,” he says.
In addition to his general internal medicine practice, Dr. Heino has a clinical focus on preventing and treating cardiovascular conditions, lipid disorders, metabolic syndrome and diabetes. An educator as well as a practitioner, he also enjoys teaching new doctors in training.
Dr. Heino attended the University of Puget Sound and earned his medical degree at Michigan State University. He completed his internship and residency at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center, where he served as chief resident. He is board certified in internal medicine.
Outside of the office, he enjoys spending time with his family, working in his garden, riding his bike around Portland, and enjoying the city’s great food, beer and farmers markets. He also likes to get away from the city to go hiking, backpacking and skiing.
