Sandra S. Karp, CNM

Sandy grew up outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She moved to Oregon to complete her bachelor's degree in psychology at the University of Oregon. She worked as a behavioral health specialist for over a decade while raising her family before returning to Oregon Health & Science University for another bachelor's degree, this time in nursing. She went on to the nurse midwifery program, graduating magna cum laude with her master's degree in nurse midwifery. Sandy enjoys empowering women through education about their bodies and supporting decision-making throughout the childbearing years and beyond. Her special clinical interests include mental health and contraception/family planning. Sandy is a Master Gardner in her spare time and grows much of her own produce. She also quilts and enjoys many outdoor activities with her family and dog, including hiking, canoeing and rockhounding.
