About Lisa A. R. Yanase
People come to a stroke and neurocritical care unit in time of crisis. It is my professional goal to provide the best care for them and their families, to ease their way during a challenging time.
Lisa Yanase, M.D., is a stroke and critical care neurologist focusing on patient care, professional and public education, and clinical quality improvement.
Her innovative and collaborative approach to process improvement has led to new ways to provide better and more accessible care for stroke patients. She has presented this work through international presentations and publications, and her tools have been adopted at some of the biggest name hospitals in the US.
Dr. Yanase has participated in numerous clinical trials focusing on stroke prevention and on early-stage treatments to minimize long-term disability from strokes and brain hemorrhages.
Before joining Providence in August 2005, Dr. Yanase spent four years as the founding medical director of the Cerebrovascular and Neurocritical Care Center at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City. The center's extensive educational offerings and evidence-based patient care protocols improved outcomes and shortened lengths of stay, laying the foundation for the inpatient neurology division of the Intermountain Neuroscience Institute."
