About Maria E. Rivera
Maria is passionate about providing accessible and culturally competent care to patients and families in her community – that’s why she became a medical provider. “My most important role is both to provide the best care possible and to help bridge gaps in care,” she says.
As part of the Providence Neurology team, she listens actively and focuses her attention on each patient. “It’s important to me to take the time to thoroughly explain everything,” she says, “and to make sure patients leave feeling confident and comfortable with their care plan.”
Maria earned both her bachelor’s and doctoral degrees in nursing from the Oregon Health & Science University School of Nursing. Her favorite part of her work, she says, is “getting to help patients feel better and improve their quality of life.”
Originally from Salinas, Calif., Maria grew up in the Rogue Valley. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, fishing, and exploring Oregon with her kids and husband.
