Cigdem Toroslu, MD

Dr. Toroslu graduated from the University of Missouri School of Medicine in 2003 and completed her pediatric residency at St. Louis Children’s Hospital/Washington University in 2006. She worked as a pediatric chief resident at St. Louis Children’s Hospital until 2007. After residency, she moved to Portland, Oregon and worked for Kaiser Permanente for ten years. She joined The Children’s Clinic in 2017 and shares a practice with Dr. Jocelyn Hayes. She is board certified in Pediatrics and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.

She has been passionate about advocating for children since before medical training; volunteering in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters Programs as an undergraduate, participating in extracurricular training in child abuse recognition in medical school, and leading a project to improve mental health screening in primary care while in residency.

She continues her advocacy work today by volunteering as the Chair to the Healthy Families of Clackamas County Advisory Committee, a nonprofit organization that supports families with the transition to parenthood, with the goal of ensuring the best start possible for infants. She also provides teaching at a local adoption agency to educate adoptive parents about prenatal substance exposure in infants.

She loves the opportunity to watch children grow from infancy to young adulthood, and is honored to be involved in their lives. Her goal is to work together with families to ensure that every child has the best possible chance at having a healthy, happy life.

Dr. Toroslu was born in Turkey and immigrated to the US when she was 12. She grew up in the Midwest and moved to Oregon in 2007. She lives in Portland with her daughter, enjoying all that the Pacific Northwest has to offer. She spends her free time learning and performing Tahitian dance with a local Polynesian Dance Troupe, running on the many trails Portland has to offer, and training for triathlons in the area.
