About Andrew D. Rah
Meet Dr. Andrew Rah. He has been in the field of orthopaedics since 1997, and he enjoys being able to see results and make patients better. “I knew I wanted to be a surgeon, and orthopaedics was quickly attractive to me. It’s a challenging and exciting field,” he says.
As a spinal specialist, his areas of expertise include:
Arthroscopic Surgery and Reconstructive Surgery, Degenerative Disk Disease, Disc Herniations, Spinal Stenosis, Spinal Instability & Spinal Trauma.
He has extensive experience in non-operative and operative treatment of spinal disorders. He performs microscope-assisted cervical, lumbar and motion preservation procedures, including disc replacement surgery, in addition to minimally invasive fusion and decompression treatments.
Dr. Rah’s professional goal is to provide compassionate, quality care to patients with spinal disorders. He has presented research at national spine meetings and has published scientific articles and chapters in spine textbooks. “I find spinal elements either surgical or non-surgical to be another level of challenge,” he says. “It’s rewarding when someone comes in with nerve pain and I can help that pain go away. It’s life-changing.”
Dr. Rah received his undergraduate degree in biology from Brown University and his medical degree from New York Medical College, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. He completed his surgical internship and orthopaedic surgery residency at NYU-Hospital for joint disease.
