Dr. Munks grew up in Salem. By the time she was 12 years old, she knew she wanted to be an OB/GYN. She went to Cornell College in Iowa for her bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and molecular biology and received her medical degree and OB/GYN training at Oregon Health & Science University. After completing residency, Dr. Munks moved to Boulder, Colorado and was an OB/GYN in private practice there for nine years before joining Women’s Healthcare Associates. She also served as the Women and Family Services Department Chair and OB/GYN Section Chair at Boulder Community Hospital, and participated on the Medical Executive Committee. She is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology.
Dr. Munks enjoys the connection she is able to develop with her patients through caring for them long term through the stages of their lives. She never tires of assisting women in bringing new life into the world. She is also a skilled and passionate surgeon, particularly laparoscopic and minimally invasive procedures.
Dr. Munks enjoys reading, cooking, jogging, hiking, camping and spending time with family. She and her husband, who were high school sweethearts, have three children—plus a yellow lab, a cat and a goldfish. They are all thrilled to be back in their home state.
