Serving as a caretaker for her grandmother and helping with her medical needs inspired Brandy Hayes, AG-ACNP, to enter the field of medicine. "I felt a pull toward taking care of others and helping them understand how to navigate an often complex medical system," she said. "Out of nursing school, I fell in love with cardiology."
As a provider, Brandy believes her most important role is to ensure patients have an understanding of what is happening with their health, so they can participate in their own care. "My patients should be involved in all aspects of prevention, treatment and planning," says Brandy.
Brandy earned her Master of Science degree in nursing from the University of Southern Alabama in Mobile. Born and raised in Michigan, Brandy moved to Oregon in 2004. In her free time, she enjoys walking her dogs, working in the yard, reading a good book and spending time with her husband.
