Janina Browne, PA-C decided to become a medical provider because she wanted to help others understand how their bodies work and how to be healthier. She believes family medicine and preventive medicine are core foundations in building healthy communities and she likes getting to be a part of that. “I enjoy the opportunity of developing meaningful relationships with patients and also aim to be a trusted confidant and a friend,” she says.
When describing her philosophy of care, Janina says it revolves around respect and high-quality care. “I am committed to providing excellent, culturally-competent, patient and family-centered, compassionate care to each patient,” she says.
In her practice she emphasizes partnership in achieving better health for her patients and their families. “I make sure to listen to my patients and establish mutual trust and confidence,” she says. “I want to meet patients where they are at and make them feel comfortable so that we can both work at meeting their health goals.”
Janina earned her master of clinical health services degree from the University of Washington. Janina was born and raised in Manila, Philippines, and moved to the US with her parents and brothers in 2007. Before becoming a PA she was a medic in the Army reserves, an ear nose and throat specialist and audiology tech.
She lived in Seattle for eight years before moving to Portland with her husband who is currently in medical school at Oregon Health & Science University. In her free time Janina enjoys cooking, hiking, and spending time with her family and friends.
