Dr. Monica Aszterbaum is one of the founding partners of Doctors of Women and has been in private practice in Irvine for over twenty years. Dr. Aszterbaum along with her three sisters attended the University of CA, Irvine and all went on to pursue medical careers. While at UCI, she earned many merit based scholarships and went on to graduate Cum Laude with honors with a B.S. in BioChemistry. Dr. Aszterbaum received her medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Her residency at Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona included the advanced study and practice of state-of-the-art laser surgical techniques, high-risk obstetrics, infertility and gynecologic endocrinology under the guidance of renowned specialists. Dr. Aszterbaum is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and holds hospital staff privileges at St Joseph’s Hospital in Orange as well as Hoag Memorial Hospital in Newport Beach and Irvine. She specializes in advanced laparoscopic surgeries and hysterectomies for the treatment of fibroids, pelvic pain, endometriosis and ovarian masses. She is a Diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners, a member of the Orange County Medical Association, as well as the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists. Dr. Aszterbaum speaks fluent Spanish and provides care throughout the Latino community. She currently serves on several medical advisory boards and panels. For consecutive years she has been added to America’s Registry of Outstanding Professionals. Dr. Aszterbaum’s goals are to give thorough, compassionate and personal care to women of all ages. She believes in empowering her patients with the knowledge and tools to make the most informed decisions for themselves. Dr. Aszterbaum considers her greatest professional accomplishment to be caring for multiple generations of women within the same family. Her passion and commitment to the field of OB/Gyn extend beyond her practice as she actively participates in mentoring programs for young women and youth interested in pursuing healthcare professions. Dr. Aszterbaum resides in Newport Beach with her husband and has three children who are currently attending college. In her free time she enjoys fitness training, travel, spending time with family and friends and welcoming her children home from college.
