About Wendy W. Yu
Wendy Yu, M.D., Ph.D., PRVI, chose to practice internal medicine because she wanted to be the go-to person for all aspects of her patients’ concerns, and she enjoys spreading kindness and helping others.
Dr. Yu emphasizes mutual decision making in her practice and feels her most important role is to be caring and a good listener. She appreciates the friends and companions she’s made on her journey.
Dr. Yu earned her medical degree from Tianjin Medical University in China, and completed her internship and residency at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland. She was a vascular medicine fellow at the Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California, and has special training in wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
Born and raised in China, Dr. Yu came to the U.S. in 2009 and conducted research at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, as well as the University of California, San Diego. She and her husband have three children. Her hobbies include swimming, practicing family yoga, and traveling with her kids. She volunteers her time at a free clinic and a food bank.

I very much appreciated how quickly Dr. Yu was able to get the CT scan authorized. The CT was done in less than 24 hours after my visit, and Dr. Yu forwarded the results to me within a day of the exam.
