About Lucas R. King

Dr. Lucas King was born and raised in Petaluma and returns to Sonoma County bringing his specialized, high-quality sports orthopedic skills to the community and greater area. Dr. King is a sports fellowship trained, board certified orthopedic surgeon with a special interest in the care of athletes at the high school, collegiate and professional level, as well as weekend warriors. Dr. King provides a wide range of general orthopedic care and specializes in disorders of the shoulder, elbow, hip and knee, performing minimally invasive, arthroscopic surgery. He also performs knee and shoulder joint replacements for arthritis and fracture care. Dr. King completed an orthopedic sports medicine fellowship at American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Alabama. He was the assistant team physician for Auburn University football. Dr. King also assisted in care for athletes from University of Alabama, the Birmingham Barons minor league baseball team, WWE wrestling and the Birmingham Ballet. Before returning to Sonoma County, Dr. King was the team physician for Colorado State University– Pueblo as well as multiple local high schools in the Southern Colorado area. Previous to his fellowship, Dr. King earned his medical degree from Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, CA. He then completed his residency at Stony Brook University Hospital on Long Island, NY where he provided orthopedic sports coverage for several local high school football teams, as well as for the Stony Brook University hockey team.
