About Stephen A. Tang
Stephen Allen Tang is a Cardiac Electrophysiologist who joined Pacific Heart Institute in 2020. He specializes in catheter ablation for cardiac arrhythmias and implantation of pacemakers and defibrillators and has a particular interest in novel and innovative therapies in the management of cardiac arrhythmias, including a lifelong passion for designing cardiac devices.
Dr. Tang was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. He completed his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering at Duke University, then worked for several years in the cardiac device division of a large medical device company. Dr. Tang received his medical degree from the College of Medicine at the University of Cincinnati, before moving to Los Angeles for the remainder of his medical training. He completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and fellowships in General Cardiology and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology at Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles Medical Center.
Dr. Tang is board certified in Cardiovascular Disease, Internal Medicine and Echocardiography. He is an active member of the American College of Cardiology and Heart Rhythm Society.
In his free time, Dr. Tang enjoys running, biking, playing tennis, traveling and spending time with his wife and son. He is an avid Duke Basketball and Ohio State Football fan.
