Our Approach

As a Level One Cardiac Center – the highest designation available – our surgeons have been providing leading-edge cardiac surgery to patients across the Puget Sound for more than 80 years, continuing a longstanding tradition of excellence and commitment to care. Our goal is to provide high-quality care aligned with professional association guidelines and locally established best practices.

Our convenient location next to Providence Regional Medical Center’s Colby Campus grants our surgeons immediate, 24-hour access to the award-winning Heart & Vascular Institute, allowing them to closely monitor post-surgical patients around the clock. This gives your care team an even greater ability to respond rapidly to any urgent calls and the chance to consult with referring physicians as needed.

Unparalleled Heart Care

As our patient, you'll receive unparalleled heart care – right here, close to home – and all the benefits our state-of-the-art diagnostic technology and surgical suites have to offer.

At Providence, we offer groundbreaking heart and vascular procedures, standing ready at every minute of every day to provide rapid treatment for cardiac emergencies.

Our team specializes in minimally invasive surgeries that improve patient outcomes and reduce recovery times. Notably, we are the first hospital in Snohomish County, and the third in the state, to offer pulsed-field ablation (PFA) to our community.

In Washington state, our Cardiac Surgery Single Stay Unit (CSSSU) is the first of its kind.  After surgery, you’re taken directly to a private room in the CSSSU to receive critical care nursing. Then, as your condition improves, we’ll shift the focus of your treatment towards a smooth transition home. Instead of having to switch units as you improve, your recovery is monitored every step of the way by a consistent care team.

You’ll work with some of the best, board-certified heart and vascular physicians and advanced practice providers in the region – all within your local community.

They take a highly personalized, team-based approach to your heart care, supporting both you and your loved ones throughout care and recovery. Our expert surgeons and cardiologists put you first, working to design a treatment plan that fits your needs and helps you achieve the best outcome for your long-term health.

We understand that heart disease impacts some communities more significantly due to genetic factors and disparities in health care access. At Providence, our Mission is to provide top-tier heart care to all our patients. We offer free and low-cost educational and prevention programs to help individuals improve their heart health. In keeping with our Mission, Providence also offers financial assistance programs that provide free and low-cost care to those who are eligible.

We honor and support the diverse racial, ethnic, religious, spiritual, gender and sexual identities within our community. We are dedicated to treating each patient with the utmost respect and dignity – no matter who you are or where you are on your health journey.
