About Audrey X. Tai

Audrey Tai, DO, is a board-certified and fellowship-trained ophthalmologist who specializes in cataract, corneal, anterior segment, and laser vision correction surgeries. After completing her undergraduate degree in biochemistry, graduating with high honors from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey, Dr. Tai was accepted into graduate school in New York City. She went on to earn her Master of Science in human nutrition from Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons in Washington Heights, Manhattan.

Dr. Tai was then accepted into medical school and earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California. She completed her internship, followed by her ophthalmology residency at the University at Buffalo in New York, where she served as chief resident.

To further expand her knowledge and expertise, Dr. Tai went through a competitive fellowship program, focusing on corneal external diseases and refractive surgery, at the renowned Gavin Herbert Eye Institute at the University of California, Irvine. Throughout her educational training, Dr. Tai was the recipient of multiple awards and honors, including the Sigma Sigma Phi National Honor Society and the Alpha Epsilon Delta National Honor Society, among others.

Dr. Tai is currently board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. She maintains professional memberships with the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Cornea Society, the California Academy of Eye Physicians and Surgeons, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Tai continues to advance her expertise through teaching, research, and clinical practice. She serves as an assistant clinical professor at the University of California, Irvine, and at the Western University of Health Sciences. Dr. Tai has the privilege of teaching the new generation of ophthalmology residents, fellows, and medical students.

As a highly skilled surgeon and eye care provider, Dr. Tai uses her knowledge to educate her patients, with a compassionate, patient-centric approach. She integrates the most modern, advanced technology and techniques to provide her patients with state-of-the-art eye care in cataract surgery, corneal diseases, and laser vision correction.
