Dr. McHenry continues to be one of THE best doctors I have ever known. Even though he was giving up his lunch break to treat me, and instructing a Medical Student at the same time, he still gave me his full attention and answered all my questions!!

Dr. McHenry had twice made referrals that saved my life. He is an excellent doctor. And a skilled DO.

Dr. McHenry continues to go Above and Beyond,' every time I see him! First, he took the time to research some information to respond to my questions about supplements, and then took the time to explain his findings and recommendations. Then, even though he was so behind he was working during his "Lunch Period," he proceeded to give me a full OMT treatment, which was sorely needed! In addition, he was mentoring a Medical Student during my visit, and he did an excellent job teaching her while he treated me, and was very patient and informative! Dr. McHenry is an expert at Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment, and is clearly dedicated to helping D.O. Medical Students understand how important this treatment is, as well as how to incorporate it into a Family Practice setting. His time and effort in this area will enable many more students to be able to use their OMT skills- and improve the lives of many more patients!

I greatly value Dr. McHenry as a PCP and encourage Providence to do everything possible to prevent overworking doctors. It also appears that there are problems with scheduling patients which can be frustrating to practitioners.

Dr. McHenry continues to amaze me with his excellent listening skills, and compassion! He so exemplifies the Philosophy of Doctors of Osteopathy, that to help a patient, you need to recognize their Body, Mind and Spirit, and care for each aspect. To do that, takes genuine care, time, and the willingness to Listen- all traits Dr. McHenry has in abundance! The only difficulty he has as a Physician now, is that he no longer has a "dedicated MA," which is an essential component of a well- working Team. Without one, it is difficult to get help with all the "small" things that makes a patient's world go round!

Dr. McHenry continues to be an EXCELLENT physician, for me- he continues to make me feel as if I can improve, and that he cares about me. This visit, he had a Medical Student with him, and it was wonderful to watch him tutor her, giving her an opportunity to learn through palpating the "Somatic Dysfunctions," and giving her the chance to explore and then explain her findings. He clearly is a Master Teacher, and I was glad he was able to share some of his knowledge and expertise with the next generation of D.O.s! In addition, the computer in the room was FINALLY usable!- giving him access to my records! He continues to be hampered by a heavy patient load, no longer having a dedicated M.A. To help him routine tasks. Despite that, he continues to provide excellent care, never making me feel as IF he is overwhelmed, and never cutting off my treatments. I'm not sure how he manages to do it all!!

Dr.McHenry and his team were very kind. This was my first appointment and I enjoyed the experience. The doctor stated at the beginning of the appointment that he was unfortunately on a more limited time than usual because of an impacted schedule. I appreciated him setting the expectation of the appointment from the start. Even with a shorter time, he was still very attentive to my questions and listened to my health concerns. He ordered a lab for an issue I've experienced a majority of my life and was the first physician I've had to take my concern seriously. I am looking forward to continuing care with him.

I have one appointment with this NEW doctor. It hard to predict how future appointments might go.

I came in at the last minute at the end of the day and without an appointment. The staff was very fast and helpful at the front desk. The doctor I saw was very efficient and was immediately ready to see me at the last minute. This really helped me out and saved me an unnecessary and expensive trip to the ED.

The provider and his staff were very professional and polite. They gave excellent care and the treatment given by Dr McHenry was very effective with good results.

It takes a lot of work and stress on my part to get prescriptions filled through the rules Providence sets up. Not because of Dr McHenry but because of some of the staff stopping the request ...not all staff. Most staff is his office are great! Very kind and compassionate like Dr. McHenry. More stress in my life right now is exactly what I don't need. Stress can be a killer.

Without his generosity, I would be suffering So much more than I am. I DO worry about HI, however! I wish there were a way he could meet the needs of his patients, AND himself!

This was an initial appointment in advance of a physical. Dr. McHenry took the time to review my history and explore my health issues and concerns, making recommendations and follow up plans for the next visit and beyond, if necessary. I was extremely impressed with his attention to what I was saying and the general sense of care that came across. This is saying a lot of an appointment that could have been brief and not made much of an impression, but even in this visit I felt like I actually received medical care. I have completed this survey twice now which is a little annoying, but I'm willing to do it to make sure you get my very positive feedback about this doctor.

I had an osteopathy appointment with Dr. Ryan. No drugs were involved. I had anesthesia for cataract surgery 3 weeks prior to the visit. I don't take any prescription meds on a regular basis. Dr. Ryan is excellent. That's why it's so hard to get an appointment.

Dr. Mchenry has always given me excellent care. He asks thoughtful questions that help both of us understand my health issues more completely. He is attentive and never rushes through a visit. I know that I am most fortunate to have him as my primary care physician.

They wanted to get to know me and ensure nothing was going wrong (this was a first time visit) which is important. I believe this visit as a first time was fine.

This was just a basic office visit to establish care and get a new prescription for routine daily medications I take. I was very grateful to the staff for getting me in quickly as I was about to run out of medications. It was a pleasant visit and everything was taken care of.

Dr. McHenry continues to be an EXCELLENT provider! He discussed the X-rays that had been ordered for me by my Podiatrist with me, taking the time to pull up the actual images, and explaining what they showed! Even though some organizational snafus' had meant he was late getting to me, he STILL took the time to do that, which was SO much more understandable than reading the report! He has the ability to give everyone what they need, while still trying to get back on schedule! Finding a doctor who really CARES about his patients is a rare thing these days!!

It is wonderful to have an osteopath as our family physician. This is a dream come true for us, since we use alternative modalities as much as possible.

All my experiences with this provider have been excellent, I actually look forward to my doctors appointments! It wasn't this way with my last provider.

I am a new patient with Providence. I have been on a wait list for 3 years to be assigned a provider with Providence. I have been a patient of [ID] in the interim period. My first appointment with Dr. McHenry, and Providence, was on [Date]. He seemed fairly uninterested in me and my medical issues. However, I was able to get his attention by turning the conversation around to him and his history with becoming a physician. At that point, he seemed more attentive towards me. I actually ended up liking him because he gave me "life" advice about my disease ([ID]) which no other physician has given me. Mainly, to make sure I walk every day, eat fresh and healthy foods, and to get plenty of fresh air and clean water. Ultimately, I believe he had spent a lot of time going over my chart before I met with him, and that was the reason I had to wait quite a while in the waiting room for him, which I don't have a problem with. When I asked him direct questions about items on my chart, he knew exactly what I was talking about. Would I recommend him to anyone else? Probably not, but I found him blunt, honest and direct, and I agree with his mindset ... That my medical outcomes are affected greatly by the health choices I make on a daily basis. This was my first appointment with Dr McHenry, to whose care I am transferring from Dr Heston's. Dr McHenry was very helpful, looked closely at my medical records, including X-rays, and we discussed possible treatment for concerns related to my back and leg problems. He was very clear and helpful. I was not familiar with osteopathy practices, and he explained some of those too. Overall, a very good experience.

My provider was wonderful. It's plain the whole staff is over worked and have too many patients. Everyone treated me with kindness, respect and professionally. I wish Providence would show them the same courtesy to they can all do the jobs they are so wanting to do.

Dr McHenry was my new assigned Dr due to my previous moving to his specialty rather than gp. Dr McHenry took the time to get to know me and my health status. Great experience switching to a new gp.

I considered this my annual exam, but it felt like a follow-up for my labs. It has been a year since I last saw my doctor and my next appointment is scheduled for a year out. We discussed my labs and any concerns I had, but there was no physical and no doctor-driven questions about various health or body issues that you get in a physical. He did listen to my heart. My old doctor did a physical at every annual exam. In MyChart, this counted as an Adult Annual Wellness Exam. I have reached out to the team about scheduling a physical which I will due shortly. BTW, on the survey it asks if you have phoned your provider in the last three months. I don't phone, but I do message thru MyChart.

Dr McHenry is the best doctor I've had in Humboldt County in 25 yrs.

Respectful, kind, friendly, knowledgeable, explained what he felt was best in my situation, and reasons why. He listened well.

Dr. McHenry not only continued his excellent OMT treatment of my on-going degenerative disease, but also listened closely to my concerns about a newly discovered lesion on my skin, quickly examined it, and explained all my options to me. He then referred me on to the doctor I had researched as an expert in the field, and was very supportive of my choice. Never did he "shame " me for being concerned about something, as my previous doctor had done- but instead, he listened compassionately, acted professionally in examining me and referred me on. Dr. McHenry is amazing. I'm glad that I am able to have him as my general practitioner.

Dr. McHenry continues to be an excellent provider- He's always patient, and listens to all my concerns, as well as my insights into my conditions. His ability to use his OMT skills to help me is outstanding!

This was my first, basically "get aquatinted", visit with Dr McHenry. He listened very carefully and patiently to me and I believe he understands and shares my health philosophy and concerns. At the end of our appointment he said "unless something comes up I'll see you in a year". I believe I am relatively heathy for 75 YOA and don't want to use any more of the rare and precious medical resources available in this area than I need to. I'm sure there are those who need them more than me.

This was a transfer of care visit for me. I'm grateful that Dr. McHenry is now my doctor. He's an excellent listener, is compassionate and kind.

This would have made it extremely difficult if I had had anything urgent I had to deal with. Having said that, Dr. McHenry was excellent in every way. Insurance issues. Providence changed its insurance for employees but doesn't know anything about the insurance when it comes to an employees healthcare. Providence cares all about the community with full exception to its employees. In other words, providence cares unless you're an employee.

After an OMT visit, I am able to use less narcotics, for an extremely painful, chronic, debilitating condition due to 5 back surgeries for osteomyelitis in my spine.

Dr. McHenry continues to be an EXCELLENT physician! In addition to treating me with his amazing OMT skills, he also examined a lesion I had found in my mouth, and discussed with me his thoughts and what was reasonable to do next. He was not pushy, TELLING me what to do next, or worse, dismissing my concerns. Instead, we DISCUSSED possible causes, and possible next steps. Through it all, I felt heard and understood, and 'safe' in his care. This might be his first year post Residency, but he comes across as knowledgeable, caring and VERY competent! I came to Providence specifically to be able to continue my OMT Treatment with HIM- but am SO glad that he is also in charge of my 'overall' care!
