Marleny Carmona, MD

Dr. Carmona is a board-certified Family Medicine physician dedicated to serving historically underserved communities. She was raised in Mattawa, Washington and is the daughter of immigrants from Michoacán, Mexico, who worked as agricultural migrant laborers across central Washington before settling in the town. During high school, Dr. Carmona spent her summers working in local grape vineyards alongside her family and community—experiences that deeply shaped her commitment to health equity and social justice. A proud first-generation college graduate, she earned her degree in biology from Washington State University and completed a postbaccalaureate research program at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences. She went on to earn her medical degree from the Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine and completed her residency at the AltaMed Family Medicine Residency Program in Los Angeles, California. Dr. Carmona is passionate about mentoring youth, community organizing, and advancing health within Latinx communities. She strives to be a physician who listens with grace and humility and leads with courage and compassion. She also aspires to be a lifelong learner, an advocate, and a teacher—both in and beyond the clinic. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Carmona enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, hiking, weight training, playing pickleball, learning new things and watching suspense films.
