About Vivek D. Shah

Dr. Vivek Shah was born and raised in Los Angeles and is excited to serve the Santa Monica & West LA communities. He completed his undergraduate studies at University of Southern California and subsequently spent two years researching in a lab to understand how exercise can improve patient outcomes in various diseases. He then completed medical school in Michigan and returned to sunny California for Internal Medicine residency at Loma Linda University and Hematology/Oncology Fellowship at Olive View-UCLA. He spent a significant portion of his fellowship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and Kaiser LA Medical Center, providing him a wide breadth of clinical experience. Dr. Shah’s inspiration to enter medicine stems from the impactful relationship that physicians forged with his sister, who was born with cerebral palsy. These experiences have led Dr. Shah to develop his practice philosophy: the patient is the leader of their healthcare team while the physician serves as guide and advocate. Together they formulate a treatment plan that best suits the individual and their family. He strives to listen to his patient's thoughts and enjoys hearing about what motivates them to stay healthy. He collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to bolster his patient’s treatment experience. In his spare time, Dr. Shah enjoys playing with his dog, a golden retriever named Oliver, hiking near the beach, listening to audio books, and cooking vegetarian dishes.
