About Shamail S. Tariq
Dr. Shamail Tariq is a triple board-certified Interventional Cardiologist. He has been in practice since finishing training in 2015 at Harvard. He completed medical school at UMKC’s Accelerated Medical program before finishing Residency at the renowned UT-Southwestern, working with Nobel Laureates in the field of Medicine and Cardiology. He completed his Cardiology fellowship at UC Irvine, where he was unanimously chosen as Fellow of the Year, Chief Fellow, He also completed MBA his Healthcare from the top 10 Paul Merage Business School at UC Irvine in healthcare innovation and reform. He was chosen to train overseas with internationally acclaimed Dr. Antonio Colombo in Milan, Italy, where he performed innovative and cutting edge medical procedures. He went to Harvard Medical School - Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center where he taught and trained in Interventional Cardiology - excelling in Complex Coronary Interventions, Peripheral and Structural Interventions, as well as Shock and Circulatory Support.
Dr. Tariq has practiced with his father in his hometown of St. Louis since completing training and has provided comprehensive Cardiac care to patients he treats like his own family.
Dr. Tariq’s areas of expertise and clinical areas includes Preventative Cardiology, Blood Pressure and Cholesterol management, as well as Coronary and Peripheral Interventions, both outpatient and inpatient.
Dr. Tariq’s philosophy is to work collaboratively with his patients to achieve the best outcomes, incorporating lifestyle changes, patient education, and procedural interventions. He takes a holistic approach to care and believes in empowering his patients.

Dr. Tariq is thorough, caring, kind, an expert who is delightful to speak with and understand, and I'm so grateful that I found him. His staff is lovely and efficient. I had to request blood test results because the last time I was there I didn't get my blood labs done in time before my appointment. That's why no one gave me the results because my appointment with him was within a week after I received the results. It was a fantastic appointment, I would recommend him.

Dr. Tariq is new to me as Dr Landa has retired. He was very friendly and attentive and I was surprised when he asked me about my trip to the ER. We talked a little bit about my rib injury when I fell even though I was there for my heart. That showed me that he had at least taken a look at my chart and knew about my history. He seemed very relaxed and comfortable in my presence. He told me he would see me in eight months and he would do another echo in the summer. His staff likes him as I asked his assistant how he was working out. She responded that he was fitting in very well as she had worked with Dr. Landa in the past.

Interventional Cardiologist Dr. Tariq has been very helpful in treating and controlling my rapid heartbeat (afib). Dr Zepeda, pain clinic is amazing. Along with Dr Tariq, cardiologist I have gotten excellent care and tests to examine my heart ,B/P,. I recently had a viral infection in my sinuses and URI for a week prior to seeing physician, I couldn't see my PA so I saw a new physician, that day, Dr Eric Lee DO. He was excellent, great exam, very thorough gave me scripts and referral to see a vascular surgeon. I am 100% satisfied with all my physicians, and my health care network at St Jude's .
