Dr. Gordon was born and raised in New York. Attracted to the connection between communications and life sciences, Dr. Gordon first worked as a genetic counselor before attending medical school. Today, Dr. Gordon is the Medical Director of Integrative Medicine & Genetics/Hereditary Cancer Prevention at the Roy and Patricia Disney Cancer Center, Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, California.
Academically, she is the Health Sciences Associate Clinical Professor at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine in Los Angeles, CA. In Santa Monica, CA at the Saint John’s Cancer Institute, she is the Associate Professor/Section Head for Urology and Urology Translation Research. As a nationally recognized expert in hereditary cancer, Dr. Gordon is co-author of an award-winning consumer health care book on understanding and managing breast and ovarian cancer risk. Her primary research interests involve the prevention of breast cancer and she has been involved in numerous clinical trials for cancer prevention.
Furthermore, Dr. Gordon has received and been recognized with honors, special awards, multiple grants, and fellowships in cancer research, genome sequencing, health training, teaching, and as a medical writer. She has been invited to lecture in medical genetics as well as breast cancer nationally and internationally.
Due to her passion towards holistic approaches to health and disease prevention, Dr. Gordon is pursuing a fellowship in integrative medicine. In addition, she is a diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Medical Genetics.
