About Lauren M. Choi
To be able to help children grow into happy, healthy adults is a blessing. As a mom of three children – a 13-year-old and 11-year-old twins – I know that parenting isn't easy. A pediatrician who is committed to giving parents the help, reassurance, and information they need can be very important.
For me, being a pediatrician is about not simply caring for the child, but for the whole family. I want parents to feel comfortable asking any question – and asking it more than once. If I've done my job of building a strong and trusting relationship, parents will see me as their partner, walking this journey of parenting together.
There is nothing more important to me than the health and safety of your children. As a strong advocate of vaccinations, I believe that ensuring the children who visit our office are fully vaccinated is the single most important thing I can do to keep your children and your community safe. If you choose not to fully vaccinate your child, another physician may be a better fit for your family. If you have questions or would like more information on vaccinations, call our office at 562-697-6030

We experienced much more care and understanding from Dr. Choi on this visit. The only thing I had trouble with was getting a hold of those giving x-ray.
Providence Patient
Dr. Choi continues to be knowledgeable, trustworthy, treats my daughter and me with respect, listens to us, gives me advice and answers all my questions and validates all my concerns. She is outstanding.

Last year it was brought up to Dr. Choi my concerns about [Name(s)] posture. She mentioned she wasn't too concerned but stated she would request a referral. I did not receive a referral and because she mentioned she wasn't too concerned, I didn't follow up (my fault). During this year's exam, she mentioned how her posture has gotten much worse. Dr Choi checked her records and stated a referral was sent and now expired. She appeared bothered that I didn't take her but I told her I never received referral. To seem bothered and annoyed in front of my daughter, and to tell my daughter to make sure she reminds me, is unprofessional. Perhaps she had enough of me prior to discussing my younger daughter's concerns during her exam, minutes prior which did not go well and she was unhelpful. I'll wait for that survey to be sent to reply.

When I declined to have my daughter receive vaccinations during her exam, especially the HPV vaccine, Dr. Choi did not agree and said "It's the best gift you can give your child." It's my decision and she should be respectfully of what I decide for my child. Her comment in front of my daughter was not needed. [Name(s)] and I filled out a questionnaire and our answers to certain questions were not addressed. When asked about the questions/answers, all she said was her score was ok. I asked her why ask concerning questions If not going to address? She then said, what are your concerns? She didn't seem to care about my daughter's concerns until mentioned by me. How my daughter feels about herself, her anxiety, how she does in school was but discussed. School was a little and she referred me to her school. Once mentioned about her anxiety, she told me to contact mental health through my insurance. When asked what she could help with and she mentioned ADHD and ADD, I told her ok, can you help to see if she may have ADD, she said that's usually diagnosed at kinder, 1st and/or 2nd grade but did not offer who exam her for ADD since she Is older. Her lack of caring and several comments made in front of my children is not what I expect from a good pediatrician.
