About Elisabeth (Beth) A. Owen (she/her)

Dr. Elisabeth (Beth) Owen (she/her) is a licensed psychologist and integrated primary care behavioral health provider for Providence Medical Group Oregon, currently working at Providence Newberg Medical Center, as well as program development for LGBTQIA+ health and Gender Affirming Healthcare. Dr. Owen attained her doctorate in clinical psychology at George Fox University in Newberg, OR with an emphasis in Health Psychology. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio on the integrated primary care behavioral health track followed by a formal post-doctoral fellowship with Providence Medical Group Oregon. Her research has focused on HIV/AIDs and stigma in healthcare, health disparities, and LGBTQ+ populations.

She has worked within varied medical settings as a behavioral health provider, crisis consultant, group facilitator, and consultant and trainer on LGBTQIA2S+ health and gender affirming care. Dr. Owen enjoys working with diverse patient populations and takes special interest in addressing social determinants of health and promoting health equity with her patients and within systems and interdisciplinary teams. She practices from an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy lens with additional therapeutic interventions related to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy, and Feminist Therapy. She strongly values autonomy and self-efficacy of patients in her clinical work and feels it is an honor and a privilege to walk alongside patients who are seeking to increase their overall health and well-being.

Dr. Owen was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest and enjoys the many natural wonders that can be found both here in her home state and abroad. When not working Dr. Owen enjoys spending time outdoors with her partner, friends, and their dogs and loves travelling.
