About Caroline B. McCulley
Dr. McCulley is a second generation rheumatologist who was raised near Portland, Oregon. She graduated with a BA degree in English literature from Santa Clara University, and during college spent a year in South Africa working on various public health projects, attending university, and exploring the country. She worked for a year as a Patient Advocate, and then graduated from Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) medical school. She completed her internal medicine residency at Providence Portland Medical Center, then returned to OHSU and completed her rheumatology fellowship training. She subsequently worked as a rheumatologist in a private practice in Bend, Oregon before now returning to Portland. She enjoys caring for patients with a wide spectrum of rheumatologic and musculoskeletal conditions, and is honored to be involved with medical education and training future physicians. She additionally is involved in an American College of Rheumatology subcommittee in order to affect the policies that impact rheumatologists and the care they can provide patients. Dr. McCulley feels privileged to work with patients over years to help them live the healthiest and most functional life possible, taking into account how psychosocial factors, education, nutrition, and physical activity impact autoimmune diseases and overall wellness. In her free time, she loves to run, hike, ski, read, cook, and explore new places with her husband, young son, and dog, Polly. She is honored to join the Providence Arthritis Center family and to once again be a part of the Portland community!
