    Diabetes and Heart Disease Prevention

    Research shows that healthy eating, moderate exercise, and a healthful lifestyle could delay or possibly prevent type 2 diabetes and heart disease in people who are at risk. We’ll help you identify the risk factors for heart disease and diabetes that you can easily monitor and manage on your own. This class will provide you with tools to make lifestyle changes including improving diet, increasing physical activity, achieving weight loss, reducing stress, and maintaining healthy blood pressure and cholesterol levels.

    Diabetes Education Program

    Healthy Kids, Teens and Families

    It’s never too early to teach your children how to lead healthy lives. This class is designed to teach children, adolescents and their families about balanced nutrition and healthy activity, helping them to become healthy kids. Topics include healthy food choices, portion control and label reading, tips for making exercise fun, family communication skills and some expert tips from our Facey pediatricians on important pediatric health topics.

    Bariatric Education Pre-Surgery Preparation

    A comprehensive medically-supervised six-month program to prepare you for weight-loss surgery. Completion is required before surgical consultation is approved.

    Menopause

    Dafna Trites, D.O. is a certified menopause practitioner and part of our OB/GYN team at Facey's Tarzana office. In this Q&A session with family medicine physician (and fellow osteopath) Nayiri Gharibian, D.O., she answers some of the most common questions her patients come in with: How long does menopause last? What are the symptoms? Is hormone treatment dangerous? Learn the answers to these questions and more in this 45-minute program.

    Prenatal & Postpartum Wellness Program

    A comprehensive program that will prepare you for baby to arrive. In each class you will learn important strategies to ensure you and your baby are healthy and safe. Topics include the importance of prenatal care, recognizing labor, breast-feeding, proper nutrition for pregnancy and postpartum wellness. This is a five-part series you can join in at any session.

    This class is for individuals with fatty liver.
