New Patient? Welcome.

Choosing a pediatrician for your child can be a difficult decision. We encourage you to speak with family and friends regarding recommendations. However, we feel confident you will get the same excellent care from any Facey pediatrician you choose.

If you are expecting to deliver in the next three months, we recommend you choose a pediatrician now to ensure a smooth transition from your obstetrician to your pediatrician. Most providers do not do "parent interviews" prior to the delivery. However, you should still contact the office of the provider you would like to meet so they can let you know their preference.

How to make an appointment

You can contact your physician's office for same day or future appointments. Phone lines open at 8 a.m., but most physicians will not be in until 8:30 a.m.

We will make every effort to see you as soon as you request. However, during winter season, same-day appointments fill up quickly so call first thing in the morning. Also, during summer months, please try to schedule physicals early in the summer, as there is high demand for these appointments during this time.

When you have a question or need help

Outside of an existing appointment, all questions you have for your pediatrician will be taken by office staff and forwarded to your provider. In addition to calling the office, you can send secure messages to your pediatrician using MyChart. They will respond to your question as soon as possible, but it may not be until the end of the day. If your issue is urgent, please notify our caregivers of the urgency when you call.

On-call physician

A Facey pediatrician is always available after normal business hours, until 8 a.m. for urgent/emergency questions. You can reach the on-call answering service by calling any of our clinics after they have closed for the day. If it isn’t an emergency, we encourage you to contact your child's regular pediatrician by phone the following working day or through MyChart. On weekends, a registered nurse will answer phone questions from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., after which the pediatrician will take calls.

Immediate/urgent and after-hours care

We know life doesn’t always happen according to schedule. Facey staffs our two immediate care locations with pediatricians and family medicine physicians at all times for weekend and after-hours care, and most clinics also offer extended hours on select days every month.

Immediate care is always available for all Facey patients when you have an urgent health issue. However, we strongly encourage making an appointment with your regular pediatrician if their office is open, particularly since he or she will know your child's medical history best. If you are not sure whether your child can wait for the pediatrician, you can call the on-call physician to discuss your child's health. You also have the option to schedule an after-hours appointment if you can't make it in during regular hours. Contact your pediatrician's office for more details and availability.

There are additional urgent care options available for our patients throughout the San Fernando, Santa Clarita and Simi valleys. Services available at our affiliated urgent care centers may vary.

Most of your refill needs can be addressed though your retail pharmacy. If not, feel free to contact Facey's prescription refill department:

Facey prescription refills

661-222-2622
Mon - Fri: 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Sat: 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Please be sure to phone for refills before your child’s supply runs out to avoid an emergency situation. You can usually request refills up to one week before you will need more medication, but allow 72 hours for the prescription to be ready, not including the weekend. If you need medicine on the same day, please be sure to notify the refill desk or the pharmacy so that we can accommodate your needs. Don’t assume the medication will be refilled on the same day. For ADHD medication refills, please request it at least one week before your child runs out of medication.

Remember, not all prescriptions can be refilled by phone. Some medications require a follow-up visit with your child’s pediatrician or a new written prescription. If your child needs to see the doctor prior to the prescription being filled, your pharmacy or the refill desk should notify you.

As part of our efforts to provide comprehensive care for your child, Facey physicians are on staff at many nearby hospitals:

Inpatient pediatric admissions for the San Fernando, Santa Clarita and Simi valleys are preferentially directed to Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center. They have excellent pediatric hospitalists that will tend to your child.
