We combine the most advanced technology and treatments for incontinence and related conditions with personalized, compassionate care. And we have the only female urologist in the region for women seeking care for these conditions.

At Kadlec, our urologists perform the following procedures to treat incontinence and related conditions. All are minimally invasive and aimed at providing long-lasting relief.

  • Axonics Therapy: This therapy involves sacral neuromodulation (SNM) and is used to treat overactive bladder. A urologist can implant a small device in the lower back to electrically stimulate nerves to control overactive bladder.
  • Bulkamid: This technique is used to treat incontinence. It involves injecting a water-based gel into the wall of the urethra to prevent urine from leaking out of the bladder.
  • Cystoscopy and intravesical Botox injection: This therapy is used to treat incontinence and overactive bladder. A urologist can inject Botox into the bladder to relax it and help control incontinence.

Revolutionizing Prostate Health

At Kadlec, we understand the significant impact that benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) can have on a man's life, especially as they reach their 50s. BPH, or the enlargement of the prostate gland, is a progressive condition that can lead to frustrating and significant lifestyle changes if not treated effectively. We offer Aquablation therapy — a leading-edge procedure designed to help men with enlarged prostates that can cause symptoms including frequent urination, difficulty urinating and incontinence.

Aquablation therapy is the only image-guided, heat-free, automated robotic therapy system for enlarged prostate. It combines intraoperative ultrasound imaging with cystoscopy visualization to provide a complete 3D view of the treatment area.

Aquablation utilizes the AquaBeam Robotic System, the first FDA-cleared robotic solution that combines automated tissue resection with real-time imaging for precision treatment, ensuring that the procedure is tailored precisely to your anatomy and maximizing the effectiveness of treatment while minimizing errors.

  • Personalized and effective: The therapy is effective regardless of the size or shape of the prostate, providing a tailored approach for each patient. This means you can enjoy consistent and reliable outcomes, knowing that the treatment is specifically suited to your unique prostate conditions.
  • Reduced risks: Studies indicate that Aquablation results in minimal bleeding and significantly reduces the risk of complications like sexual side effects and incontinence, offering you peace of mind with a treatment that prioritizes your sexual health and overall well-being.
  • A lasting solution: For men who have tried medications without success,  Aquablation offers a long-lasting solution with minimal risk of irreversible complications, allowing you to achieve lasting relief from symptoms, freeing you from the ongoing need for medication and enhancing your overall quality of life.
  • Prevents serious health issues: If left untreated, an enlarged prostate can lead to serious conditions such as irreversible bladder or kidney damage, bladder stones, and incontinence. Aquablation therapy helps mitigate these risks, protecting your long-term health by addressing prostate issues early and reducing the risk of future complications.

The Aquablation therapy procedure employs a high-speed water jet to remove excess prostate tissue, minimizing the need for invasive surgery and ensuring a quicker recovery time.

The surgeon uses specialized software to map the treatment area by identifying  which portion of the tissue to preserve and what to remove. When ready, the robot precisely executes the waterjet treatment according to the physician’s plan. After the additional tissue is treated, it is removed by the doctor, clearing the urethra channel.

Aquablation therapy takes about an hour under general anesthesia and requires an overnight stay.

Overall, you’ll experience less pain and discomfort post-procedure, allowing you to return to your normal activities sooner. Temporary side effects may include a burning sensation while urinating, increased frequency or urgency of urination, and the presence of blood in the urine. Be sure to talk to your doctor if you are experiencing any side effects after the procedure.

Most cases of Aquablation are covered by insurances including Medicare, making this innovative treatment accessible to a wider range of patients and allowing you to receive advanced care without the added financial burden.
