Even during the COVID-19 crisis, cancer doesn’t stop. Your health care provider can help you determine what screening schedule and which screening tests are best for you at this time. If it’s time to schedule your routine cancer screenings–and especially if you have any concerning symptoms–don’t delay getting the care you need. At Providence, we are taking special precautions to protect you and your loved ones. Learn how Providence is responding to ensure the safety of our patients, staff and doctors.

Where bright minds and big hearts come together

At Providence, we see more than a cancer patient, we see the life you’re fighting for — and we have for nearly 100 years. That’s how long we’ve been providing world-class cancer care across Southern California. Today, our commitment continues through national accreditations including the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer Integrated Network Cancer Program.

Home to some of the top medical oncologists, radiation oncologists and surgeons in the Los Angeles area, Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center provides the San Fernando Valley access to top quality cancer care.

Cancers treated

Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center provides cancer services for most cancers, including:

  • Breast
  • Colorectal
  • Gynecological
  • Head and Neck
  • Leukemia
  • Lung
  • Lymphoma
  • Ovarian
  • Prostate
  • Rectal
  • Urologic

Our cancer team is comprised of both surgeons and medical and radiation oncologists. In order to make sure that each patient receives the most comprehensive and highest quality care possible, these physicians work alongside nutritionists, case managers, social workers, rehabilitation experts and physical therapists.

Working together to provide high quality medicine, exceptional individual care and the best possible outcomes, our inpatient cancer unit is also staffed by compassionate nurses certified by the Oncological Nursing Society (ONS).  Their years of experience in treating cancer patients helps them provide unmatched care and advocacy for cancer patients and their loved ones.

Along with chemotherapy and radiation therapy, Providence Cedars-Sinai Tarzana Medical Center offers a full spectrum of cancer support services and treatment for each patient’s individual cancer needs. These services include:

  • Rehabilitation
  • Robotic surgery
  • Breast reconstruction
  • Ablation therapy
  • Lymphedema treatment
  • Systemic therapies
  • Palliative care
  • Spiritual care

Infusion treatments

Our infusion centers are professional yet warm places, where patients can receive intravenous infusions and blood transfusions, as well as chemotherapy, IV antibiotics, steroids, and immunoglobulin. All infusions are administered by our medical staff of physicians and nurses, who also monitor each patient individually to make sure they are responding well to treatment.

Radiation treatment

Our full range of radiation treatment options provide state-of-the-art therapies for our patients. Like our cancer care, radiation oncology care is provided in an interdisciplinary setting, with close consultation among each patient's oncologist, surgeon, pathologist and radiation oncologist. Together, they determine the best individualized treatment and closely monitor each patient’s progress.
