Do I need any special equipment or software?
For a video visit, you will need:

Are video visits secure?
Yes, Providence has a dedicated, secure portal for patient visits through Zoom. Enhanced security measures include encryption, meeting IDs and visit “verification” to ensure your video visit is private and secure. Providers are assigned unique passwords and waiting rooms. This ensures that only your provider and you will be admitted to your visit. In addition, any information transmitted is secure and treated the same way it would be if you were meeting with your doctor in person. Your video visit is not recorded.
Can I get a prescription online?
Yes. Providence virtual care providers can prescribe medications as part of your treatment plan. We’ll electronically send your prescription to the pharmacy of your choice.
Please note that most of our virtual care providers cannot prescribe pain medications or controlled substances.
