Welcome to Clinical Connections

Letter from Kevin Manemann, chief executive, Providence Southern California

Welcome to the first issue of Clinical Connections. This bi-monthly newsletter for clinicians was developed after hosting many interviews with physicians and other practitioners to learn what they would find of value in a newsletter. You’ll find videos and stories of your colleagues highlighting advancements in patient care, new technologies, interesting patient case studies, research, clinical trials, advanced notice on government initiatives that may affect your practice, and much more.

As chief executive, it’s been an important goal of mine to introduce a vehicle that connects our Southern California physicians with each other, as well as our region’s broad expanse of resources and expertise. In this issue, you’ll meet two members of my leadership team, Susan Huang, M.D., our new regional chief medical officer, and her dyad partner Brian Helleland, chief of clinical programs and operations. Together, they will partner with our physician enterprise and Ambulatory Care Network to develop and grow our medical group and affiliated physician practices to enhance quality, access and affordability of services. This will strengthen our integrated delivery network, ensuring that patients have a seamless experience across the continuum - from an urgent care or medical office appointment to an inpatient stay at an acute care ministry to home or community care.

Moving forward, you will receive an email announcement and link to each issue. However, should you want to read content from a previous issue you can access it at any time by visiting https//www.providence.org/clinicalconnections or bookmarking this page in your browser.

Enjoy the September 2021 issue of Clinical Connections. My hope is that you’ll find this newsletter a useful source of information. We’d love to hear from you about content and topics you’d like to see in future issues. Please email comments and questions to clinicalconnections@providence.org.

Sincerely,

Kevin Manemann, chief executive, Providence Southern California
