About Courtney A. Valentine
I chose the field of psychology within primary care because I believe in the power of prevention, early intervention, and whole-person care. I’m passionate about supporting individuals and families across the lifespan, and I find deep meaning in helping people thrive—not just treat illness. My special interests include integrating behavioral health into medical settings, improving population health, and teaching healthcare professionals to see the full picture of a person’s well-being. I focus on building strong, trusting relationships and fostering resilience in both patients and care teams. In my practice, I offer behavioral health consultation, brief interventions, and collaborative care for mental health and chronic conditions. I also support team-based care models that enhance communication, reduce burnout, and improve outcomes for everyone involved. My care philosophy is rooted in compassion, connection, and collaboration. I believe that when we care for the whole person—and the care team—we create healthier communities. What I love most about my job is the opportunity to make a meaningful impact every day, whether it’s through direct care, teaching, or system-level change. I want people to understand that I practice with intention, always aiming to integrate mental and physical health in a way that honors each person’s story and strengths. Outside of work, I enjoy travelling, reading, spending time with my family. These activities help me stay grounded and bring balance to my life, which I believe is essential for sustainable, joyful work in healthcare.
