It's not a bad experience, but rather a surprise during our visit with one of the speech pathologists who wanted to educate me on my 'very possibly needing a tracheotomy' for this type of surgery. Anxiety levels went up a bit, but a couple hours later were told "NO" I would not be in need of one. She was just being very thorough in her explanation, but on a patient that had never been told of a possible need for one.
