About Kristina B. Moon
“A love for science combined with a desire to help people” is what first drew Kristina Moon, D.O., to the field of medicine. During her medical school and residency training, she gravitated toward cardiology, inspired by the specialty’s complexity and its remarkable pace of innovation. That passion continues to shape Dr. Moon’s approach to patient care today. Dr. Moon views her role as a physician first and foremost as a patient advocate. She emphasizes the importance of listening, clear communication, and education to ensure her patients understand their cardiovascular conditions and feel empowered to make informed decisions about their health. She is committed to creating a collaborative care environment centered on each patient’s goals and values. She is proud to be a part of the Women’s Heart Program, where she is dedicated to helping women better understand the unique risk factors, symptoms, and cardiovascular conditions that affect them. Through this work, she strives to support women in navigating effective strategies for prevention and management of heart disease. Dr. Moon earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Iowa. She completed her internal medicine residency at The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio—her hometown—followed by a fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin. She is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and holds additional certifications in echocardiography and nuclear cardiology. Outside of her clinical practice, Dr. Moon enjoys spending time with her family, particularly outdoors hiking, kayaking, and skiing. She is also an avid traveler and spent a year living in London between her undergraduate and medical school training.
