About Kristen M. Gehring
Kristen has worked as a physician assistant specializing in endocrinology since 2006. Medicine has always interested her, she says. “Since childhood, I’ve loved the idea of helping others and making a difference in their lives.”
Listening deeply, communicating clearly, and making decisions collaboratively are three things she emphasizes in her work with patients. In addition to providing caring, competent, evidence-based medicine, she sees education as key to her role. “I enjoy partnering with patients to help them learn about their health conditions, and watching as they take ownership over them,” she says.
Kristin is a graduate of Linfield College. She completed her physician assistant education at Oregon Health & Science University.
A married mother of three, she spends most of her free time watching her kids’ sporting events and driving carpools. When she has time of her own, she likes reading historical fiction, gardening, traveling, hiking, paddleboarding, snowboarding, and being involved in her church.

I really liked Dr Gering. It took 9 months to get an appointment with this office.

It was just a good experience. The hospital is amazing, the help desk was right there. The worker in the gift shop was so nice.Everyone was. Being an older person isn't fun, and it's reassuring to see young people taking the baton of care and service forward.

Kristen is always kind and compassionate. She's an excellent listener, and always seeks the whole picture of how I'm doing - not just my endocrinological issues.
Providence Patient
I am relaxed and confident of the care I receive there.

Very good communication between PCP and bone specialist to get me early appointment. Excellent explanations of options available and willingness to apply for acceptance to the recommended program. The treatment plan seems relatively easy for us to do for the next year. Once monthly injection is simpler than current treatment regimen. Looking forward to beginning new program as soon as accepted.
