About Kimberly B. Thomas
Kim grew up outside Nashville, TN, as a preacher’s kid. She has an undergraduate degree in Development Economics and Russian from Georgetown University and then worked at the Federal Reserve Board on banking laws to help protect consumers. She moved to Colorado for a MSPH at University of Colorado where she studied statistics in maternal and child health and helped with a cost analysis of the Nurse Family Partnership program. Kim then attended medical school at University of Colorado where she met her husband. After graduating from the St. Vincent’s Family Medicine Residency in Erie, PA, she joined the faculty. While her husband completed his orthopaedic trauma fellowship in Reno, she worked in a rural full scope family medicine clinic in the nearby Sierra Nevada. She loves full scope family medicine, especially pediatrics and obstetrics. She also has a commitment to integrating evidence-based medicine and information mastery into the daily practice of medicine and is also working with other faculty members to develop a communications, professionalism, and ethics curriculum. She loves spending time with her husband and two children in the open outdoors, their garden or their chicken coop.
