About Lawrence J. Smith
Dr. Smith is a Family Physician who completed medical school at the University of North Dakota and his internship in Denver before moving to Alaska. He served as a US Army Flight Surgeon and later completed his formal medical training at the Alaska Family Medicine Residency. He has cared for patients in private practice, at Southcentral Foundation, and recently in East Africa for two years. He returned to the residency program in 2019 and now serves as medical director for the Providence Family Medicine Center. His interests include caring for the vulnerable in our community and working with residents and all medical learners.
