About Ngoc Giao T. Nguyen
Dr Ngoc Giao Nguyen is a board certified family medicine physician. She completed medical school at Michigan State University before completing her internship and residency at UTHealth Houston.
Dr. Nguyen's areas of expertise include hypertension, type 2 diabetes, hyperlipidemia, hypothyroidism, weight management, depression and anxiety. Dr. Nguyen's philosophy of care is Creating a relaxed and welcoming care environment where patients feel comfortable sharing their stories, concerns and goals; ensuring patients feeling heard, supported and uplifted after each visit; partnering with patients by understanding their goals, values, and concerns to develop treatment plans that are personalized and achievable; forming lasting relationships and empowering patients to make confident and informed decisions about their health.
Dr. Nguyen's favorite aspect of the physician/patient relationship is the opportunity to support patients through both difficult and celebratory moments; patients entrust me with personal stories or struggles they may not feel comfortable sharing elsewhere, and the opportunity to provide comprehensive care—including preventive services, management of acute and chronic conditions, and guidance to help patients achieve better overall health. On her free time, she enjoys attending sports events, experiencing live music, discovering new restaurants, and spending time outdoors relaxing at the beach or taking in beautiful scenery.

This appointment was for pre op bloodwork and EKG. I was impressed by the doctor and will return to see her as needed.

She explained everything clearly, answered my questions thoughtfully, and made me feel supported during a stressful time with my health. I especially appreciated how thorough and reassuring she was throughout the appointment. It's rare to find a doctor who combines professionalism with genuine care for their patients. I'm very grateful for the guidance and treatment plan she provided.

I didn't feel like the provider gave any feedback on the concerns I raised. This may have been because we needed blood results but I left with more questions than I came in with. She seemed to listen well but there was not really a two way dialogue.
