About Jill T. Wei Doherty
Jill Wei, MD was initially drawn to medicine in high school after shadowing her cousin during her family medicine residency. She went on to attend Brown University for college, concentrating in community health, and medical school. She did her internship and residency at UCLA Santa Monica. A native Californian, born and raised in the San Fernando Valley, Dr. Wei chose to remain in Santa Monica to establish her medical practice.
Dr. Wei loves being a family physician because it allows her to develop strong relationships with patients and their families over time. She finds it a privilege to encourage people to be their best and achieve a lifetime of wellness and happiness. Her clinical interests include preventive care, women's health, pediatric/adolescent care and chronic conditions including diabetes, asthma and gastroesophageal reflux disease.

I believe my doctor is intelligent, up to date and a good listener. The office is clean and comfortable. I like her.I wish It was easier to schedule appointments more quickly but maybe these long waits for appointments are normal nowadays. As this is my primary and general physician, I thought an annual check up would be a more Involved examination beyond blood testing, BP, short term memory test, heart and lung sounds. Perhaps this is how it is done today. My problem is that I am not sure what to ask for as far as further tests for age-related and health history needs. Today's examination were basically blood and stool test samples which would then be shared with the patient by the my chart portal. I'd prefer that results and terminology be followed up with a telephone call from my doctor. It would alleviate concerns and clear up questions in laymen's language. Relying on my chart test results is impersonal and leaves a lot in question for me.
