About Traci A. Ackron
Traci A. Ackron, D.O., wanted to be a physician since she was a child. She has always had a desire to serve others and feels that being a physician is the best way she can give back. “I decided on family medicine as I love having relationships with my patients and their entire family, from birth of a newborn into geriatrics,” Dr. Ackron says. She believes it’s a privilege that people allow her to be a part of their lives, in good times and bad, while sharing their journey and helping encourage them to live their best lives.
In her practice, Dr. Ackron emphasizes partnering with her patients to achieve their health goals. She takes particular interest in prevention and the osteopathic principles of the body as a unit, capable of self-healing. “As a provider, I think my most important role is to be an advocate for the patient,” she says. In addition, Dr. Ackron has a special interest in sports medicine because she is an active person herself. She understands the frustration with injuries and setbacks, and enjoys helping others get back on track and achieve their goals.
Dr. Ackron earned her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences in Yakima, Washington. She completed her family medicine internship and residency training at Beaumont Hospital in Farmington Hills, Michigan, as well as a sports medicine fellowship at the Detroit Medical Center where she had the opportunity to be team physician for the Detroit Red Wings (NHL) and the Detroit Tigers (MLB).
Born and raised in Michigan, Dr. Ackron has lived in the Detroit area; Chicago, Illinois; Washington state and Portland, Oregon. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, running (she ran the Chicago Marathon four times for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society) and playing soccer. She loves to travel and has done volunteer work in Peru, Kenya and El Salvador.

My first visit & went very well.
Providence Patient
Dr. Ackron is always on top of everything related to my health care. She explains things in an easy way for me to understand and ALWAYS asks me if I have any questions. She never appears in a hurry during my appointments. I look for a partner when it comes to my health and she fits the bill.
Providence Patient
Pretty thorough appointment, but felt really rushed.
Providence Patient
She is always approachable and easy to talk to about any concerns.
Providence Patient
The doctor's voice is too loud like spoke too fast in the exam room and reflects one point she has not in patience to clients.
Providence Patient
Dr.Ackron is knowledgeable and answered my top line questions -- what did the MRI mean, and what would be the possible treatments. In discussing the treatment possibilities, Dr. Ackron sped through them in about 2 minutes flat. It wasn't anything she said, but her manner, that communicated that she had better ways to spend her time, so I felt that follow up questions would be unwelcome as a waste of her time. I was very disappointed, as the doctor I had seen initially about my issue had been very helpful, listened well and answered all my questions.
