Holly M. Hofkamp, MD

Dr. Hofkamp enjoys building long-term relationships as she cares for every member of her patients’ families, from the youngest to the oldest. Being a physician is what she’s always wanted to do, and supporting children and parents in creating healthy families is one of her top priorities.

Health equity, community engagement, and transgender medicine are other areas of special interest for Dr. Hofkamp. “My main goal as a doctor is to do right for my patients,” she says. “This means putting in the work to be clinically excellent, listening deeply to make people feel safe and heard, and having an eye toward social justice and advocacy.” She treats each patient as an individual, she adds, “and I consider their family context, community and lived experience when partnering with people to improve their health.”

Dr. Hofkamp holds a bachelor’s degree from Pennsylvania State University and a medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh. She completed her internship and residency at the University of California, Los Angeles, followed by a clinical leadership fellowship at Oregon Health & Science University. She is board certified in family medicine.

“I grew up on the East Coast in a loving family that valued hard work and education,” says Dr. Hofkamp. “I had access to good schools and teachers, study-abroad programs that broadened my perspectives, and great family medicine mentors who helped shape me as a clinician. I consider myself super lucky and try to remember that privilege every day when caring for patients.” Outside of work, she enjoys biking, skiing, camping, and generally making messes with her husband and their three children. She also has been known to dabble in musical theater.
