About Jennifer R. Parr
Growing up with a mother who worked in women’s health and advanced practice nursing, Jennifer was inspired to choose the same career path. “I saw the connections she made with patients and knew that I wanted to care for people in the same way,” she says. “It’s an honor to support people at the most vulnerable times in their lives – whether they’re going through pregnancy and childbirth or an acute or chronic illness – and to help them see how strong and capable they are.”
In a previous role, Jennifer worked as a postpartum nurse. “One thing I've carried with me since then is the joy of education,” she says. “As a provider, my most important job is to educate my patients – to make sure that they understand their options, and that they feel heard and understood, as well.” Ultimately, health care decisions are up to patients, she adds, “but I want them to feel fully equipped to make those decisions after speaking with me.”
Originally from Kansas, Jennifer graduated from the University of Kansas before earning her doctorate degree in nursing at Oregon Health & Science University. Her training includes family medicine, women’s health and internal medicine.
It’s been 10 years since she moved to Oregon, says Jennifer, “And now I can't imagine living anywhere else.” She and her husband have a young son who keeps them on their toes. In her free time, she enjoys running, reading, and listening to music.

I was really struggling last week, and kind of scared about some horrible vertigo, and Jennifer Parr immediately put me and my husband at ease. Because of Ms. Parr, the way she really listens, and her communication with my psychiatrist, we have answers, solutions and a plan. We feel so heard and well taken care of!
