Carol L. Opheikens, FNP

Nursing is a lifelong calling that drew Carol in from a very young age and never let go. “I never considered anything else,” she says. An active listener and engaged educator, she enjoys working in partnership with her patients to help them define and meet their health goals.

Carol’s philosophy of care echoes the words of Maya Angelou: “When people know better, they do better.” In her practice, she says, that means “working with people to help them better understand their health issues, so they can make better health decisions.”

Carol holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the Linfield School of Nursing, and master’s degrees in nursing from the University of Cincinnati and in public health from Walden University. She completed her internship at Providence Plaza Family Medicine. She also has specialized training in infectious diseases.

In her free time, Carol is learning to speak Spanish. Her other favorite pastimes include reading, knitting, challenging herself with acrostics and crossword puzzles, and spending time outdoors with her family and their dog.
