About David C. Burke
David Burke, FNP-C, went into family practice as a nurse practitioner after working in the intensive care unit (ICU) as a nurse for many years. “I loved critical care medicine but realized that if more people received good, consistent primary care, they may not have ended up in the ICU in the first place,” he says.
David changed gears and chose primary care, hoping that he could “help people manage their health problems more effectively and avoid hospitalizations so they could spend more time living their lives and less time being a patient.”
In his practice, David emphasizes prevention and wellness. “I strongly urge all my patients to make exercise a regular part of their daily lives,” he says. David also encourages a Mediterranean-style diet and stresses the importance of making informed decisions based on the best available evidence. As an educator and advocate, he feels that “it’s important to help patients better understand health information and make choices that are best for their situation.”
David earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona School of Nursing and his master’s degree in nursing from Northeastern University.
Born and raised in Massachusetts, David met his wife in nursing school. He loves spending time with his family, including his two children, and exploring Oregon, rock climbing, kayaking, mountain biking, surfing, hiking and anything outdoors.

The clinic in Bethany provides fast friendly service, the caregivers at that location are very professional and attentive to our needs. I enjoy the convivence of the online (mychart) scheduling process and the ability to reach out if I have concerns about my health. I saw this provider because my PCP was on PTO. My provider this time, made my appointment feel comfortable, relatable to time in my life and was able to diagnose the problem quickly and efficiently, but also provided me with alternatives such as PT and other ways to help with care.
